Apple Releases 4.2 Beta 2 and iTunes 10.1 Beta (Developers Only!)

Apple released iOS 4.2 build number 8C5101c, has been released to it's registered developers only, and the file is 521MB. Again like all the other beta's DO NOT UPGRADE IF YOU WANT AN UNLOCK/JAILBREAK! Some new features in 4.2 beta 2 are the AirPrint features have been detailed a little bit further stating new compatible printer models from the HP Photosmart family, also including a note that iOS 4.2 devices can print directly to printers that have been shared through a Mac or a PC. iTunes 10.1 will most likely be released with iOS 4.2 in November. 4.2 beta 2 is compatible with all iDevices. SHAtter Exploit Might Also Jailbreak the New Apple TV !

MuscleNerd of the iPhone dev team  confirmed today that this new exploit which was found by pod2g an ex  member of the Chronic Dev-Team will also work on the new Apple Tv (iTV). Since Apple TV also runs on iOS 4.1. It would be awesome to see what jailbroken features you could get on a jailbroken iTV, like cydia.This comes from the dev teams blog (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/): It’s looking like SHAtter is going to be the gift that keeps on giving.  Even though the new AppleTV isn’t yet in people’s homes, the firmware is available on Apple’s normal public distribution servers and SHAtter has been used to decrypt its keys!  The main filesystem (“Mojave8M89.K66OS”) key for 018-8609-066.dmg is:
31c700a852f1877c88efc05bc5c63e8c7f081c4cb28d024ed7f9b0dbc98c7e1406e499c6

If you’re familiar with vfdecrypt, you can use that key to decrypt the image and mount it.  If you do so, feel free to use the comments section to discuss what you discover there :)  (And of course, thanks @pod2g!) So there you go the SHAtter exploit will also jailbreak the Apple tv! Remember it's a bootrom exploit so Apple cannot patch so buy it fast to secure your jailbreak before Apple patches it!

SHAttered iPod touch 4G (Video Demo)

iPhone Dev-Team FINALLY Demoes SHAtter for iOS 4.1 Jailbreak on iPod touch 4G!!

The iPhone Dev Team has finally showed a video demo of SHAtter (pod2g's exploit) in action! They are using pwnagetool to demonstrate the video. It will be released later so iPhone 4 users can preserve their baseband to unlock. The iPhone Dev team said that faster tools are in process (Greenpois0n) is being developed to jailbreak all idevices. The best thing about this jailbreak is that Apple will not be able to patch this jailbreak because it is a bootrom exploit! They will have to release a new set of idevices with different hardware! pod2g the hacker behind SHAtter exploit has just published all decryption keys to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4. This means that the new jailbreak greenpois0n jailbreak tool is almost done and ready to be released  The jailbreak keys were posted on the theiphonewiki.com so we can say that the tool is almost ready! Hurry Google Voice Mobile is free In the App Store!!

Google voice which is $2.99 is now free in the app store for a few hours hurry and go get it! GV Mobile+ will go back to its normal price at around 10pm PST so hurry! Google Voice allows users to make calls in the US using Google’s free voice service. It also gives users the ability to send free texts to anywhere in the US from virtually anywhere in the world!

Major iPad 2 News!

Patently Apple has found some drawings for the next iPad which could possibly come in early 2011!
The first picture shows a 30 pin dock connector on the side which means you can charge your ipad while in landscape mode! 

Secondly it shows that apple wants to change the look of the ipad around it

Thirdly you can see that the iPad has a small hole in the front which possibly could be a front camera for facetime!

Lastly there are no reports of a back camera as you can see in the picture but hopefully in the future

Apple released a very small update for itunes (version 10.0.1) and it's jailbreak safe! This new update includes  several bug fixes and also a Ping sidebar in your music library. How To get HDR photos (3GS-3G) and Game Center (iPhone 3g) Via Cydia (JAILBROKEN)

You all know that apple said that the iPhone 3g wouldn't be able to have Game Center and HDR (Better Quality) photos  which is only exclusive to the iPhone 4. Well now you can get both features on the iPhone 3g and HDR photos on the iPhone 3gs too just by downloading a simple app in cydia! First of all you must be jailbroken on 4.1 you can use my guide to jailbreak via redsn0w http://jailbreaknewsupdates.blogspot.com/2010/09/jailbreak-ios-41-with-redsn0w-096-beta.html and use my 3gs jailbreak guide via sn0wbreeze: http://jailbreaknewsupdates.blogspot.com/2010/09/sn0wbreeze-20-released.html. Now in cydia go to search and download HDR/GameCenter Enabler. For GameCenter you can enable via winterboard for the iphone 3g and for hdr photos simply go to the camera app on the iphone 3g/3gs! Again you MUST be jailbroken on 4.1 to do this! The app is for free under the modmyi source which is a default repo with cydia so you should be all good!

How to Downgrade Your IDevice

For those of you who don't know how to jailbreak here is a guide how to. Downgrading is the process of which lets just say you upgraded your ipod to 4.1 and wanted to downgrade to 4.0 to jailbreak.
First of all you need to have your shsh blobs saved by cydia you either did this when you clicked make my life easier or saved your blobs with tinyumbrella. Here are the steps to downgrade:
Step 1: Go to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ and download the firmware for your Device.
Step 2: You need to redirect itunes to saurik's  (cydia's) server by left clicking on wordpad and run as admin.On the top left click file then open. In the top bar type this in C:\windows (Then press return).Now click in to the System32 folder ,then click in to the etc folder.Now on the bottom right click on the drop down bar and click on all documents.Click on the hosts file at the top and copy and paste this 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com.
Step 3: Set your iDevice in to DFU mode:
#1 connect your device to pc
#2 Open up iTunes
#3 Hold down power & home button at the same time for 10 seconds then let go of the power button and keep hold of the home button for a further 5 seconds iTunes should now pop up with a restore message
#4 Now shift click on the restore button this will allow you to search for the firmware you saved to the desktop.

If you get an error use tinyumbrella to kick your device out of recovery mode.

Pod2g Found another Exploit for iPod Touch 2g MC Model!

Pod2g former member of the chronic dev team found another exploit that will pwn the ipod touch 2g mc model for life! This exploit is different than his other exploit SHAtter.The name for this exploit is- _control_msg(0xA1, 1) exploit. Here is some more information on how it works: A heap overflow exists in the iPod touch 2G (both old and new) bootrom’s DFU Mode when sending a USB control message of request type 0xA1, request 0×1.On newer devices, the same USB message triggers a double free when this is  marked as finished, also rebooting the device (but that’s not exploitable because the double free happens in a row) via theiphonewiki.com. Posixninja analyzed and explained this one.This new exploit will be incorporated with ih8sn0ws sn0wbreeze 2.0! The release will be soon i will keep you guys updated on when it comes out! Comex To Release Userland Exploit For 4.1 After All?

Comex the maker of many jailbreaks including spirit and jailbreakme 2.0 "star" might be releasing a userland based jailbreak userland meaning it can easily be patched within the next firmware update by Apple. Here is what happened

There are many fake jailbreaks that are just ridiculous like oilra1n and greenpois0n.info remember they are just trying to rip you off, they don't work and they most likely WILL give you a virus! Avoid these scams and wait for legit jailbreaks from the iphone dev team and the chronicdevteam!

4.2 Beta for all idevices (Developers Account Only!)

A few days ago Apple released 4.2 beta mainly for the IPad but also all the other devices. 4.2  beta brings most of the main features to the iPad like multitasking,folders, game center youtube fixes and wireless printing they have also added a brightness widget to multitasking. In 4.2 Beta for the iPad the lock orientation is now in multitasking not on the switch now the switch is for mute. Surprisingly 4.2 has not slowed down the iPad at all! Cracked Apps on non-jailbroken idevices

iModZone has found a exploit in which they could get cracked apps on non jailbroken devices. They have called there app IPA God . They said they will be charging $20 which i find personally funny because they are screwing over developers. What does this mean for Apple and developers? Jailbreak iOS 4.1 and 4.2 beta 1 (At Your Own Risk!) with Redsn0w 0.9.6. beta 1 on iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G (MAC ONLY)

Today the iPhone Dev team released Redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 1 for the iphone 3g and the ipod touch 2g mc model and non mc model and it will jailbreak 4.1 and 4.2 beta 1 (USE AT YOUR OWN RISK). However on the mc model ipod touch it will be tethered which means each time you turn off your ipod you will have to re-jailbreak your ipod.
Step 1: Download iOS 4.1 for your version of iPhone 3G / iPod Touch 2G.
Step 2: Update to this latest firmware using the IPSW file you just downloaded via iTunes 10.
Step 3:  Launch Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 (download links at the end) and Browse for iOS 4.1 Firmware. 
Step 4: Select "Install Cydia" and click on Next

Step 5: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

Step 6: At this stage you will need to put your iPhone in DFU mode by holding “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

Step 7: You will Get a Jailbroken Device as soon as the process ends.

New Bootrom Exploit Found

On September 8th the same day as 4.1 came out and the new iPod touch 4g pod2g former member of the chronic dev team found a low level bootrom exploit. Meaning that it can't be patched by Apple in the next firmware update and Apple will have to release a set up of new idevices. Remember the 3.2 iPad jailbreak chronic dev team promised greenpois0n? Well the new jailbreak using the new bootrom exploit named "SHAtter"  it might be incorporated with greenpois0n!
