PhoneBook iPhone Hacktivation Method Blocked By Apple!

Sherif Hashim well know baseband hacker, said that the phonebook activation method without having a legit sim card has been blocked by Apple! But this it what he also said:  fortunately though, with limera1n and Greenpois0n, Phonebook SIM card hacktivation trick isn’t required anymore as the mentioned exploits are bootrom based, and therefore can hacktivate your phone without needing the original SIM.
Phonebook SIM card were required back in those userland based jailbreak days, with tools like JailBreakMe and Spirit to bypass “Connect to iTunes” screen.

iOS 4.2 Beta 3 for iPad Has Been Jailbroken Using Sn0wbreeze By iH8Sn0w!

iH8sn0w developer behind Sn0wbreeze (pwnagetool for windows) has jailbroke 4.2 Beta 3 for ipad! This of  has been achieved using Geohot’s untethered bootrom level limera1n exploit (untethered via comex's patches). The image below shows full root access using MobileTerminal for iPad.So basically Comex's untethered hack still works in beta 3! By the time The official 4.2 comes out im sure the hack will be patched so save your shsh blobs!

PwnageTool 4.1 Released for Jailbreaking Apple TV 2G, iPhone 4, iPad and iPod touch 4G For Mac!!

The Dev Team has finally released PwnageTool 4.1 which is based on recently released Geohot’s bootrom-based Limera1n exploit. This exploit enables this new version of PwnageTool to build custom firmware files for A4 devices like iPhone 4, iPad, Apple TV 2G and iPod touch 4G which was something, previously not possible.

PwnageTool 4.1 supports the following devices:

* iPhone 4 on iOS 4.1
* iPhone 3GS (new and old bootrom) on iOS 4.1
* iPhone 3G
* iPad on iOS 3.2.2
* Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.1
* iPod touch 3G / 4G on iOS 4.1
PwnageTool 4.1

The custom firmware files which are built using PwnageTool 4.1 can be customized in a way that doesn’t include the latest 2.10.04 / 05.14.02 basebands of iOS 4.1. Greenpois0n RC4 Released For iPod Touch 2G MB and MC Untethered!

MuscleNerd has just surprised us by tweeting some very important news. He mentioned that the Dev Team have figured out a combination between PwnageTool,Limera1n, and Comex untethered hacks, this combination will be able to make untethered jailbreaks for all A4 devices on all future firmwares for life!

Greenpois0n Released! PC, Linux, and now Mac!!

GreenPois0n is now available for download. If for some reason Geohot's Limera1n didn’t work for you, you can give this one a try to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G / 3G and iPad. Support for iPod Touch  2G and Apple TV will also be added soon but there are no apps as of right now for the Apple TV. SHAtter has been saved for future devices. As of Right now it's Windows only but Mac is coming Soon! Here is the video how to guide:



Tip: Don’t forget to upgrade to 4.1 (iPhone/iPod) or 3.2.2 (iPad) before starting Greenpoison. If you need an unlock, use tinyumbrella to keep your old baseband.

Geohot released Limera1n on Saturday which was a shocker, is he also releasing a unlock? Ihackintosh.com say that they found a video and picture having a limesn0w unlock in limera1n. Here is the image and video:

As you know yesterday Geohot shocked everyone by  releasing limera1n, forcing the Chronic Dev team not to release Greenpois0n and waste a second bootrom exploit.This Comes from there blog:
Thanks to the irresponsible antics of geohot, we will have to delay the release of greenpois0n (new ETA = as soon as possible), so that we have time to clean up his little mess and integrate the exploit he uses in limera1n into greenpois0n. This way, we can save SHAtter for future devices that may still be vulnerable to it.
We know that this is not what some people want to hear, but due to geohot needing to feed his ego (as usual) and revealing his limera1n exploit, we do not have any other responsible options.

Geohot has fixed Limera1n to support new bootrom 3GS users so all you 3GS Users go ahead and jailbreak.

Geohot Makes His Return With Limera1n! Can Jailbreak ALL iOS 4.1 Devices for Life!

Geohot has made a epic return to the jailbreak scene with a complete new bootrom exploit and tool to pwn all current iOS devices on iOS 4.1 for life with a completly different bootrom exploit the SHAtter! He has been out for months, but his return is surely going to please everyone, especially the 3rd-generation iPhone and iPod touch owners who were left out by SHAtter (GreenPois0n).

This news has been confirmed by members of The Chronic Dev Team on to whom Geohot has confirmed about his return with a complete different tool  Limera1n. SHAtter (Greenpois0n) are both Bootrom exploits but different ,Geohot's Bootrom exploit will jailbreak ALL existing devices not just the newer devices like Greenpois0n does. The Chronic Dev Team of course isn’t too pleased with it, they want Geohot to save this new bootrom exploit for the future next-gen iPad 2 and iPhone 5 devices cause two bootrom exploits would be just a waste. This is very exciting news to iPhone 3gs users and iPod Touch 3g users! Here is what comes from Twitter:

No matter what jailbreak it is whether it's Greenpois0n or Limera1n you'll still be able to jailbreak your devices this weekend. Geohot seems to have timed it to perfection. 10/11/10 (October 11), the ETA of limera1n is exactly one year after blackra1n his 3.1.2 jailbreak was released to public.So that would be perfect timing. New Greenpois0n Jailbreak Untethered But only for 4.1/3.2.2!

Just now on Twitter The chronic Dev team posted that Greenpois0n is untethered thanks to comex. This comes from Comex: "Yes, that means you need to back up SHSH or you will lose untethered when 4.1.1 comes out, kthx." Then MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team tweeted this: "Those reading between the lines: Yes SHAtter itself is tethered. @comex came up with a way to untether it on 4.1/3.2.2"-"SHAtter is yet another breed of exploit. Bootrom-based but requires userland "assistance" for untethered boots (@comex did this for 4.1)" So somehow Comex integrated a userland exploit with SHAtter which is bootrom to make it untethered ONLY FOR 4.1/3.2.2. So technically Greenpois0n is half userland half bootrom. This jailbreak will still not be able to be patched by Apple but it will be tethered on future firmwares so that means when 4.2 is dropped next month GP will be tethered,unless Comex can find a way like he did for Greenpois0n to make it untethered.I know this is a bit confusing i am a bit confused myself! Redsn0w 0.9.6. Beta 1 Released For Windows Finally!

Today the iPhone Dev team released Redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 1 for Windows Finally for the iphone 3g and the ipod touch 2g mc model and non mc model and it will jailbreak 4.1 and 4.2 beta 1 (USE AT YOUR OWN RISK). However on the mc model ipod touch it will be tethered which means each time you turn off your ipod you will have to re-jailbreak your ipod.
Step 1: Download iOS 4.1 for your version of iPhone 3G / iPod Touch 2G.
Step 2: Update to this latest firmware using the IPSW file you just downloaded via iTunes 10.
Step 3:  Launch Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 (download links at the end) and Browse for iOS 4.1 Firmware. 
Step 4: Select "Install Cydia" and click on Next

Step 5: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

Step 6: At this stage you will need to put your iPhone in DFU mode by holding “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

Step 7: You will Get a Jailbroken Device as soon as the process ends.

Today on Twitter we got an ETA for Greenpois0n which is Sunday at 10:10:10AM GMT.  Many people were hyped that Greenpois0n would jailbreak the iPhone 3gs and iPod Touch 3g. Earlier on Twitter today MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev-Team tweeted that Greenpois0n would only jailbreak the iPod Touch 4, iPhone 4, iPad, and the newly released Apple Tv (iTV). Many people were dissappointed but MuscleNerd confirmed that Comex is working on a jailbreak for these older devices. So again please be patient to the people who have these older devices. Chronic Dev Team member p0sixninja  confirmed that the ability to Hacktivate the iPhone 4 and older iPhones to bypass activation screen after jailbreaking to use the phone without any SIM card that will come along with the jailbreak. SHAttered AppleTV 2G (video)

SHAtter Jailbreak Demoed on Apple TV!!!

The Dev-Team has now managed to jailbreak the newly released 2nd-gen Apple TV, running 4.1 using SHAtter exploit loaded on a beta version of PwnageTool. SHAtter is a low-level bootrom exploit. In order to patch this jailbreak they will have to introduce newer hardware devices for all the current iOS devices to patch the jailbreak.So your Devices Will be jailbroken for life using the SHAtter exploit!!

This comes from the Dev Team's blog: It’s confirmed…SHAtter can trick Apple’s new AppleTV 2G into restoring to a pre-jailbroken IPSW from PwnageTool too!  Literally the only UI application on the ATV is Lowtide.app, but now the window is open for jailbroken apps of all varieties.  (Just like the early iPhone days, the only apps you’ll see on the AppleTV will be jailbroken ones). In the meantime, here’s a video showing root access (via ssh) into Apple’s new product.
